Privacy Policy
In short: becool does not collect any personal data. Everything the app stores stays on your device and is never sent to anyone.
Who we are
becool is an iPhone app created and maintained by Aleph Retamal (“we”, “us”). This policy explains how the app handles your information.
What data the app uses
To work, becool stores the following on your device only:
- your progress: cards viewed, quizzes completed and your streak;
- the cards you saved;
- your daily reminder time;
- your chosen language.
None of this leaves your device. becool has no server of its own, requires no account or sign-in, and does not send this information to us or to anyone else.
Date and time check. To unlock one new card per day, the app asks a public Apple server for the current date and time when your device is connected to the internet. This request sends no information about you or how you use the app, and the answer is not stored anywhere except on your device.
The app shows no ads, uses no analytics, does no tracking and contains no third-party SDKs.
If you use iCloud Backup or back up to a computer, this data may be included in your device backup, which is under your control and subject to Apple’s terms.
Notifications
The daily reminder is a local notification: it is scheduled by your iPhone itself, without going through any server, and only appears if you allow it. You can change the time in the app or turn notifications off at any time in Settings > Notifications > becool.
Purchases and subscriptions
Subscriptions are sold by Apple through the App Store. Payment is processed by Apple: we never receive or store your payment details. The app only checks with Apple whether your subscription is active. Any data Apple processes is covered by Apple’s Privacy Policy.
Children’s data
becool is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. Because we don’t collect data from anyone, we don’t collect data from children either.
Your rights (GDPR and LGPD)
The EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Brazil’s General Data Protection Law (LGPD) give you rights such as accessing, correcting, deleting and porting your personal data. Since becool does not collect or store any personal data outside your device, we hold no data about you to access, correct or delete.
The app’s data stays with you. To delete it, simply delete the app: touch and hold the becool icon, tap “Remove App”, then “Delete App”. Your progress, saved cards and preferences are deleted along with it.

Changes to this policy
We may update this policy, for example if the app gains new features. The latest version will always be on this page, with an updated effective date. If a change affects how data is handled, we will announce it here before it takes effect.
